The book is now in production, I understand that the company gettingyourselfpublished use, takes 8 -10 working days to produce your books.
I am having a hardback - 3 copies for family to start off with. So far the guys at http://www.gettingyourselfpublished.co.uk/ have been really communicative and helpful, they even managed to get me examples of the type of cloth for the book so I could choose my clour and have supplied proofs of the books and outer cover.
You can see my book on their site now, I would totally recommend them.

Why I had to write my book
It had been bugging me for ages and I had to get my words down into print for my children.
I know there are lots of good advice books out there, but there is nothing more interesting than writing your own book of thoughts on life. I expect my children might be the only people ever to read it but who cares it has been a labour of love even if somewhat lonely on occasions.
I had written a lot of information down a number of years ago and now with the children reaching their teenage years I really wanted to let them have a proper copy to use through their life.
After searching a number of companies, and there are many, I have started the process with http://www.getingyourselfpublished.co.uk/ which seemed like a logical place to start as it seemed to be what I wanted to do.
So far I have created the cover and submitted some text, there seems to be a few stages in this process but as in the rest of life a lot of self discovery is taking place.
In addittion to writing the book I am going to record this blog as a memoir of my journey, hope it is going to be fun and the book gets finally published.
